Glitter and Foiled Birthday Card

Todays birthday card is for a two year old.  It's a total scrap lift from a pin my daughter sent me, only the pin was for a cake topper.  I changed it up a bit and turned it into a card.  Got to love my Silhouette Cameo for making it super easy!  I whipped out some glitter card stock and cut the "TWO COOL".  For the sunglasses, I used Deco Foil Toner Sheets, covered it with Black Deco Foil and ran it through my Laminator.  I placed foam tape behind the words for dimension.  For the background, I die cut the number 2 out of fun foam and used a temporary adhesive to attach to a stamp block.  Then stamped with cloud ink all over my Neenah Card Stock.  A Stardust Pen adds shimmer around the "2's".  To bring the card together, the stamped piece was adhered to a piece of light grey card stock then the glitter piece and attached the sunglasses with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Have a great day and keep crafting!

All Die Cutting Card

I have a lot of stamps but sometimes you need a quick card.  If you have done some "extra" die cutting, a card can come together very fast!  It's rare that I make a card without using my trusty Big Shot.  Today's card came together really fast because I like die cutting and do a lot of it.  If there is a die that I may use frequently, I just cut extras and store them with the die.  When I purchased the Delighted Mickey Mouse Die, I had to play right away and set it aside for a special little boy.  Today I pulled out that completed die and others to make a card for Three Year Old Landon!
The Happy BirthdayStitched Squares and Square Die Set are all from The Stamps of Life.  The large 3 is adorned with a Stardust Pen and popped up with foam tape.  The border has a quick doodle with my Micron Pen.

Happy Birthday Landon!

Have a great day and keep crafting!

30 Day Coloring Challenge and Cards Made

I've been having a ball coloring everyday - playing along with The Daily Marker - 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  With everyone sharing and showing their talents, I've been inspired to step outside my comfort box and try new things.  Below are cards I've made with those days of coloring.
For the first card, I used Copic markers on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock and then followed up with PrismaColor Colored Pencils to add depth.  Ornate Background from Simon Says Stamps is the background image.  When I first got this gorgeous stamp, I went ahead and stamped several times with Tuxedo Black Ink to have extra on hand.  My sentiment is a die that has been out of stock for a while, but I finally have it in my hot little hands!  Using my Big Shot I cut 4 and stacked them up.  VersaMark Ink coated the dies and then I heat embossed 3 times with Clear Embossing Powder for that pretty shine.
This next card stamped image is also from Simon Says Stamps called Beautiful Flowers and I decided to go with a teal flower - the heck with reality - this is the color I wanted to play with.  Again, I used same inks/papers as the above card.  And again, I used Copics with Colored Pencils but I also used Micron Pens to darken the nooks and crannies.  The sentiment is from Always Here and stamped and heat embossed.  I apologize for the poor quality photo - I took it with Instagram and then emailed the image to myself.  (Lesson learned - take the dang pic and then post to instagram). Here is a link to instagram - ukidz
Final card is also a poor quality pic - see above -
For a better look click here.  The image is Peonies and Tulips and uses the same papers/inks.  The image is die cut with Stitched Rectangles in my Big Shot.  The base is stamped with Cloud Ink from The Stamps of Life using an older stamp set from Inkadinkadoo.

Have a great day and keep crafting.

A Late Fathers Day Card

I didn't want to post this til after Father's Day because my Dad reads my blog.  Didn't want to spoil it :)

Sorry this two photos show different colors, the true colors are more like the first photo.  This stamp/die set All The Fixings was part of a class kit from Craft Fancy at the CK Convention.  We made three male cards with it.  Now to the card, I didn't have silver card stock for the saw so I whipped out my Silver Deco FoilToner Sheets and my trusty Big Shot.  After die cutting the saw twice, it was time to run it through the laminator.  Trimmed the red saw handle and adhered it to the silver saw.  Avery Elle's Horizontal Stripes Die takes care of the background with two shades of blue card stock.  The sentiments are stamped with Versafine Black Onyx on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  Details were added with a Metallic Gelly Roll Pen.

Hope you have a great day and keep crafting!

Birthday Balloon Card

Hello all,
My world has returned to "normal", cars have been repaired, water returned about 2:30pm the same day and God is Good!

Now to fun stuff!  Hubby's birthday was yesterday and this is the card I made him.  He's a year older than me, except June to September, then he is two years older.  lol!

I just love those happy balloon dies, so much so, that I decided to make a shaker box.  There are 5 layers of the balloon with one layer of acetate and they are all glued with Multi Matt Medium.  The sequins are from my stash.  My background is done with three colors of ink stamped with Plaid Background Stamp Set.  Actually, I made several of these so I can grab one for a quick card.  The Bold Numeral Dies personalizes this card, 4 layers of them, to be exact.  To add a bit more, a Sparkle Pen adds shine to the numbers.

We celebrated with a German Chocolate Cake.  What's your favorite cake?

Have a great day and keep crafting!

Whole Lotta Color Die Card

Hello, hope you are all doing well!  It's been a day of crazy - I have an older (2004) SUV and it gave a dinging concert, turns out the battery is dying.  Daughters car air conditioning was blowing hot air on a 93* day.  Hubby and crew finished siding house - Yay and last night a water main broke and we have no water today.  Now I could call this bad luck, but I prefer to look for the good.  A battery is an easy fix for my car - I love it and they don't make this model anymore.  After a month of weekends spent siding, the guys are free!  While I don't have water at the moment, we have plenty to drink, my home is air conditioned and there are worse things in life.

Ok, enough about me...here's the card I put together with some of my coloring challenge hummingbirds.  It went together quickly as I used Altenew Floral Cover Die A and B with three colors of card stock.  I die cut the Hummingbirds Thanks Stamp Set with the coordinating Dies with my Big Shot.  I really do like the Ribbon Messages Stamp and Cut Set for quick cards.  I wanted to add some dimension to those hummingbirds so I used Collage Medium dots and carefully placed them without pressing hard so they are lifted a bit.

You really cannot have too many birthday cards in your arsenal.  This one came together quickly!

Card Making with 30 Day Coloring Challenge Work

I don't know if you've done The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge, but you SHOULD!  Jump in anytime during the month!  Having a blast doing it and today's card uses my 1st day of coloring.  Using the same stamp from my last post - Simon Says Stamp June 2018 Card Kit.  Stamped on Neenah 110lb Card Stock with Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  Lots of shine was added with a Sparkle Pen.  The sentiment is two colors of die cuts from Celebration Script Words run through my Big Shotand then stacked, slightly offset.  Sequins were stamped with Congrats Stamp & Cut set in ink from Hero Arts.  A bit of Glossy Accents brings more shine.

Hope you're having a great day and keep crafting!

Another First - Card Kit from Simon Says Stamps

I've been a coloring fool - but it's been a fun time for this girl!  Simon Says Stamps has a June Card Kit that has already sold out and I know why - the 6x8 stamp set sells for $24.99 and the kit cost $34.99.  Just couldn't pass it up when I saw all it had in it and it did not disappoint.  First time I had my hands on their card stock and I see more of that joining my stash soon, very thick and sure beats the stuff I've been buying at my local chain store.  So, today's card uses that big gorgeous floral swag and I had a ball coloring it with Copic Markers.   My sentiment is from Hero Arts and it seems I've been grabbing those a lot lately - that Happy Stamp N Cut Set sure does make me happy.  Three of those dies went through my Big Shot and I stacked them together using Multi Matte Medium.  I stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  Those little pearls are from my stash.  To bring my card together, all this is attached to my card base, card stock from Michaels.

Hope you have a great day and keep crafting.

Using Distress Blender Brush for the First Time

Hello all,

From the moment I saw the Tim Holtz Distress Blender Brush being demonstrated, I knew I needed them!  It took me a while to lay my hands on them but I got them now!  I started my card with a stencil in the May 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit and taped it to Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Card Stock.  Using three colors of Distress Oxide Inks (Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover) I dabbed, pounced and brushed with my new brush and it was awesome (imagine me singing that last word)!  Stenciling with ink hasn't been a fav of mine - Not Anymore-love those brushes!  After I removed the stencil, I added stamped leaves in those same three colors.  Then I stamped (from the May Kit) the swinging boy in Tuxedo Black Ink and the sentiment with VersaMark Ink on black card stock and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

To pull my card together, I die cut the sentiment with Stitched Rectangle Die but realized it was too large.  So I trimmed the top and bottom off and used foam mounting tape for dimension.  I added sequins with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. Then for a bit more detail, I added leaf doodles with a Stardust Gel Pen.  All of this mounted onto my card base.
Have a great day and keep crafting!
