Guest Designing on Power Poppy!!

Hello all,
Today is a few firsts for me!  I'm the guest designer on the Power Poppy Blog for their Hues to Use Challenge.  NOTE:  For this opportunity I received this digital image at no cost.  I found out about Power Poppy Stamps when I signed up for The Coloring Challenge Road Trip.  Kathy from The Daily Marker came to St Louis and my best friend Becky and I spent the day coloring and checking out (and purchasing) the wonderful stamps at Power Poppy.

I'm a traditional stamper and for this card, I used my first ever digital stamp Everything's Rosy.  I do love the flexibility to size these images to fit my project.  Copic Markers on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Card Stock is my "go-to" for coloring.  I tried to print my digital stamp on Neenah - my printer wasn't having any of that!  So I changed my tactic and printed on Canson Mixed Media and whipped out my Kuretake Gansai Water Colors and went to town!  My image looked "flat" so I printed out another copy of that digital stamp and watercolored a few of the flowers.  After I fussy cut parts of flowers, I used Tim Holtz Collage Medium and very carefully placed the flower bits on top to keep it raised.  I set that aside to dry.  For more dimension, I added Glossy Accents to the polka dot cup.  Detail was added with a White Uniball gel pen and Black Micron Pen.  To bring my card together, I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to attach fun foam to both my image and card base.

So pop on over to Power Poppy Blog and join in!  Have a great day and keep crafting!

  2. I too want to congratulate you on being a successful second heart transplant recipient, Beverly! So thankful that you were blessed with the gifts of life from special heroes (and their families)! WOW! And congratulations on being this week's Guest Designer for Hues to Use. I absolutely love your card and your beautiful coloring, and I love how you've added the extra layer along with adding glaze on the sweet little polka dots on the cup! So sweet! May I suggest you try cutting down Neenah by 1/2" and taping it (temporary adhesive if you wish) to a regular piece of copy paper. Feed in that top piece first, and I believe the roller with accept that and then the heavy-duty rollers will pull through the rest of your card stock. Hope that works...it has for me and others as well. Let me know if you have any problems with it. So woohoo on getting into digis!! Hugs! xoxo

    1. Thank you! I try to promote organ donor awareness - I guess God knew I, being a chatty Cathy, was going to talk about it, a lot! Thank you so much for the tip with the Neenah, I'll be trying that out soon!
