Ever since I got the Pineapple Perfection Stamp I thought, I bet this would look really good with gold on Kraft paper. Now I have had this stamp for a while but it took me til now to do it and I couldn't be happier with the results. The picture just doesn't do it justice in real life.
First I stamped with VersaMark Ink onto Kraft card stock. Then heat embossed with gold embossing powder from Stampin' Up. I pulled out my Starry Color Watercolors. I used just the tiniest bit of water to color to keep warping to a minimum. After it dried I used 1/4 inch double sided adhesive to really secure to the card base. Using my Big Shot, Happy Stamp N Cut and gold glitter paper, I die cut the sentiment. The using the same gold embossing powder I heat embossed the word birthday on Neenah 110lb Card Stock. To bring the card together, I trimmed the embossed word and adhered both pieces with Multi Matte Medium. Some gold and white bakers twine was tied at the top.
Hope you're having a great day and keep on crafting.

My try at the July My Monthly Hero Kit
It's so fun to see what everyone does with the My Monthly Hero Kit and here's three cards. After seeing all the inspiration from the design team it's sometimes difficult to come up with something different.
First card is very simple. There are three small balloon shapes in the kit and I staggered them and stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on to Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Card Stock and colored with Copic Markers. Glossy Accents add some shine. A quick Celebrate Die-Namic over glitter paper ran through the Big Shot and I've got sparkle!
Next card uses that big wonderful background die that came with the kit. But first I used a Cloud Stencil and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink to create a sky. Then I ran that through the die cut machine. I stamped the sentiment with the same distress oxide ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder then used Majestic Label Die to cut. The Ferris wheel image was stamped and colored with copic markers and covered with glossy accents. Finally dies were raised with foam tape and detail pen work was done with a Stardust Pen.

The third card uses the same supplies as the first with a few additions of the reactive inks, that I used to watercolor, silver Signo gel pen and Sparkle Pen. Not quite as happy with this one.

Three Cards - Same Sentiment
Today's cards have the same sentiment and are all made the same way. I also learned a lesson that I will share! The sentiment is from Sizzix and is meant for a pop-up inside a card called Scallop Drop in with Gifts. I simply die cut the Happy Birthday and then used my Pen Blade to cut the sides. Then I used VersaMark Ink and embossing powder to change them up.
The first card uses the Ornate Background Stamp on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. Then I used Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans over the embossed area. I do love the look of white and blue! This was mounted on blue card stock from Michaels. The sentiment is covered with watermark ink and heat embossed with Navy Embossing Powder - I did a few coats. Then I cut slivers of foam tape and attached it to the card.
The next card is where I learned a lesson - the card is made the same way as above with a few changes. The background is Abstract Waves Bold and colored with Distress Oxide Inks direct to paper and sprayed with water. This time I used a glitter embossing powder and that where the problem came - it was very particular with heat embossing. When I repeated the VersaMark Ink, loose glitter stuck to my ink pad - it made a huge mess - glitter was everywhere... I finished with two coats of heat embossing and adhered it to the card with Collage Medium. I was looking for a slightly raised sentiment - in hind sight, I should have rolled the piece so it was flat. I ended up pressing it down, losing the dimension :(
For my third card I used the Family Word Bold Background Stamp and used several colors of Distress Oxide Inks and blended them together. Once the sentiment is heat embossed, it too, was attached with foam tape. Lesson learned again - blue glitter transferred from versa mark ink pad is not covered up by the beautiful White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. If you look closely you'll see tiny blue dots in the sentiment. This time I added a sheer ribbon to the card. After heat embossing and seeing it - I took a stiff piece of card stock and "scraped" the glitter off the ink pad.
So I hope you learn from my mistakes. Have a great day and keep crafting!

Another Card using Coloring Challenge Image
Today's card uses an image from Simon Says Stamps called Choose Joy. The rain boots was stamped on Watercolor Card Stock with VersaFine Ink. Masking Fluid was applied on the dots and once dried, I began watercoloring with these watercolors. To bring the card together I whipped out my trusty Big Shot and began die cutting. I used Spellbinders Labels 18 in two sizes to cut the image. For the background I used 3D Woven Embossing Folder and used a Tim Holtz Blender Brush and Tide Pool Ink to really show the dimension. A piece of aqua ribbon from my stash is tied around the background. The die cut image is applied with Score Tape to really secure it.
I actually bought the 3D embossing folder back in April and this is the first time I used it - and I love it!!!

Making Cards with 30 Day Coloring Challenge
Hello all,
Hope everyone had a good time celebrating the 4th of July! I'm back from a break and have three cards using the same image I colored for the challenge. All three images are from the most recent sale from My Favorite Things called Fresh Squeezed. All three uses Tuxedo Black Ink stamped on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Card Stock and colored with Copic Markers. A few have liquid masking applied before coloring. All are raised with foam tape and have Glossy Accents on the glass and shoes.
This background has lemon slices stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder then die cut with Stitched Rectangles through my Big Shot. The sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and die cut with Hearts in a Row. Bakers twine and sequins are added embellishments.
This card uses the Horizontal Stripes Die negatives that was leftover from a previous card. The pieces are attached with the die cut for correct placement. The circle is inked and placed on a larger Stitched Circle Die cut from vellum. The sentiment is stamped on vellum and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and die cut using Hearts In A Row. Sequins and Bakers twine are added embellishments.
This card uses the Quilted Back Drop Die and placed over Aqua linen style card stock. Again the Stitched Rectangles Dies were used and some ribbon from my stash.
Hope you like them and inspire you to play more with backgrounds. Have a great day and keep crafting!
