Wedding Card

My Daughter wanted a special card for her friends who are getting married at the Butterfly Conservatory this coming weekend.  She showed me the invite and told me to have fun.  So this is what I came up with.  I printed the sentiment and their names on the computer and cut using Spellbinders die.  A Martha Stewart border punch and butterfly punch embellish the embossed surface.  A homemade bow add sparkle when it's made from sheer ribbon.  The butterflies are sprayed with glitter.

This card is almost like the last one.

The Mothers Day Card I made in a previous post is very similar to this one.  It was a larger card, 6.5 x 4.5 inches.  This card uses the smaller dies in the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles so it fits on a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card.  Papers are from My Minds Eye. I had the green netting in my stash, so I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker.  The flowers are Prima Bubble Green and the corner flower is sitting atop a large clear button.  Queen and Company's Orchid Pearls and Stickles Lime Green add interest as embellishments.  Justrite Stamps Large Fancy Sentiments is stamped with Momento New Sprout dye ink.

Jacob

I did this layout for National Scrapbooking Day, a challenge over at Scrapbook.com.  We had to use at least four square pictures on a layout.  I used my cricut to cut the title and then I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.  Jacob was a good little model for these shots.  Papers are from The Paper Studio.  I do love folding flowers for little corner accents.  The button was made out of filmo clay and dotted with my signo pen.

Mothers Day Card

Happy Early Mothers Day to all!  This card is for my Mother and I used my brand new Spellbinders Dies  Resplendent Rectangles.  I've been drooling over these dies, seeing wonderful creations by fabulous designers, and had to have them.  They are a bit intricate so I recommend laying wax paper under the paper you are cutting in the die so it releases easily.  The sentiment is from Justrite Stampers All in the Family Large Sentiments.  The paper was a scrap I had, I think it was from My Minds Eye.  The flowers are from some silk flowers that I pulled apart and the leaves are folded ribbon.

Watch my very first video!

I like to customize my ribbon to match the ink I use on projects.  Below is my first video showing how to dye ribbon.  For this card, I used Basic Greys Green at Heart Paper, Spellbinders Lacy Ovals, Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, Justrite Stamps Large Fancy Sentiments, Pallete Ink in French Lilac and a Pearl Pen in Cream.

Thanks so much for watching!  I would love to hear your thoughts!

Sunshine Altered Notebook and Gift Basket

I have a dear friend who could use a little sunshine in her life right now.  My dear cousin Debbie did a gift basket for me when I needed some sunshine.  So now it's time to pay it forward.

I remember my taste buds were all messed up when I was in the hospital and for quite a bit afterwards.  Food just didn't taste right.  So in this sunshine basket, there are all things yellow, Candy, Candle, Cookies, Goldfish Crackers, Gum, Bubbles, Brightly colored Napkins and even Sunflower Seeds (for planting, not eating). Also this altered notebook for her to jot down just anything she feels like.  The yellow tub was a bargain purchase at Target for a mere $3.00.  I hope this makes her smile!

The notebook is just a standard composition book that I covered with paper from Michaels Recollections Line.  I printed the Sunshine Sentiment from a Pinterest site here.  The swirly's down the side are from a Sizzix die Loops and Ric rak.  The white background is cut from Spellbinders Die Fleur Di Lis Rectangles.

I had some gold ribbon that I glued down before gluing the patterned paper down.  This gives the book a nice finished look once tied.

Photo Shoot

Isn't he adorable?  Yes, I'm prejudiced, he's my Grandson, Jacob.

Well Jacob, his Mom Sara, his Aunt Ellie and Me (Mimi) set out to take some pictures of this little handsome man.  Yes, it took 3 of us.  Mainly because I was still recovering from surgery.

Echo Park's Times and Seasons line has moustache paper, perfect for this layout, in fact all the papers on this are from this line with the exception of the journaling spot.  It was made using brown kraft card stock and Spellbinders Labels 18 with bling from Want2Scrap.

EK Success Border punch was used on the navy blue and finally I had a bit of black tulle that I tied in a bow.

Pop Up Birthday Card

Had to wait til today to post this one.  My Niece, Kendall celebrated her 16th birthday today and didn't want her to see it before hand.  What you don't see is the gift card the slides right behind the pink portion.  There is a slot that holds cards upright.

All paper products are from KI Memories.  The Pop Up is made using a die from Sizzix.

If you have looked at previous entries on my blog you will recognize the dies that have the sentiments stamped on.  I seem to always reach for this Spellbinders Die - Label 20.  For the inside mat I traced the outline of the die with an exacto knife to get a tight mat.

The bling on the front of the card is from Want2Scrap.  Love how they coordinate with Spellbinders.

It's A Boy Thing Layout

Just some fun silly pictures of my Grandson Dominic doing what he does best - having fun!  The papers are from The Paper Studio, Hobby Lobby's Line.  The title, stars and bike are Dazzles that I got at CKC.  The buttons, are actually die cuts that I made with Sizzix sizzlets die.  Got some washi tape and a few Tim Holtz goodies as well.

I do love this little guy!

I went a little flower crazy on this layout

It's been a while since I dug into my flower stash.  Bout time I did though.  These pics are when Katie came over after I bought my new purse.  She's a big Michael Kors fan.  I knew she would appreciate the purchase.

The papers and embellie are from Anna Griffin, I used a Martha Stewart Punch and Spellbinders Foliage die for the leaves.  My stash of flowers are all mixed together in a big clear container so I can pick and choose easily, this means I can't tell you who made what.  The papers I chose looked a little busy all together so I added a piece of lace to tame it down.

Easter Tags

I have seven Easter Baskets to fill this year so I made these quick and easy tags for them.  The manilla tags are from an office supply store and are misted with Radiant Rain Shimmer Mist in Sea Foam. Then I stamped an Inkadinkadoo stamp with Stampin Up's Almost Amethyst ink over the misting.  Martha Stewarts eyelet punch is pale blue and is brightened up with Tattered Angels Lavender Fields.  Finally a Sizzix bunny is die cut and colored with pink chalk on the ears, nose and tail and a grey Tombow marker highlights the would be shaded areas.  Pop dots raise the bunny up just a tad for dimension.  Waterfall Stickles make up the blue eyes.

I replaced the white string with thin green ribbon.

Have a Happy Easter!

My oh My, I'm Gonna Have to Change my Blog Name

On January 23, 2013 I celebrated my 20th Heart Transplant Anniversary.  My daughter Katie and I went to breakfast and stopped by a jewelry store to pick up a bead for my Pandora Bracelet.

That night, I got the call that a New Heart was available for me.

In April, I was diagnosed with Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy, a disease of the transplanted heart, and treatment is retransplantation.  Between April and January I had 14 stents put in to keep my heart going.

So we got to the hospital, along with family and friends and they had me in the operating room that night.  They finished on January 24.

So I need to change the name of my blog to Beverly 3 Hearts.  lol

Here's a layout I did of getting the call.

One of my scrapbook.com buddies who is also a transplant recipient send me a box of goodies all from the DCWV Rock Star line.  My girls had a caringbridge.org site set up and they kept referring to me as a "Rock Star".  These pages are done with that line.
