You're Super Birthday Card for that Super Girl in your life

I have been coloring my heart out with comic markers!  I chose the You're Super Stamp and Die set from My Favorite Things and went to town.  If I'm taking the time to color an image, I might as well color many and once I'm finished, all the extras go back into the storage envelope for future projects.  

This card came together with several products that I love, using a Sizzix Gift Card Flip-Its for the base and Black & White Stripes paper pack from MFT (see above) and Little Boys & their Toys paper pad from The Paper Studio.  A card without using my Sizzix Big Shot is like Lemonade with no sugar - can't do it.   I inked the edges with Candied Apple and Black Soot Distress Oxide.  The sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark Ink and Ranger White Embossing Powder using my Marvy Embossing Heat Tooll. 

The city skyline is from the stamp set and I used Hero Arts Gray to Black Ombre Pad so the base would be darker than the top.  Then using Radiating Rays Stencil from MFT, Silver Pigment Ink from Hero Arts and a stencil brush to add more interest - she is a "Super Girl" after all.

Back to the coloring - Neenah Solar White 110 lb  cardstock is working wonderfully with Copic Markers and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad.  I used C2, B23, B26, R29, RV02, Y0000, Y11, Y15, E00, E01 and E21.  Also used a Signo Gold Uniball Pen pen and a Micron 03 Pen pen for details.  Her mask sparkles because of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

January My Monthly Hero Kit - 2 More Cards

So I'm back with two more cards to share with you from the January My Monthly Hero Kit.  Amazingly, it is still available!  The first card is made with the dies included in the kit.

The dies were cut out of the white and backed with red card stock.  I popped the die back in and added all the bits back using the die cut for a guide.   I just love the look of red and white - so clean!  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps You Matter with white embossing powder on My Favorite Things Die-namics Hearts in a Row - Vertical banner.  Those tiny lines require a very steady hand when gluing - Mine have tremors so if you look closely you can see my oops.

The next card uses the same kit, same sentiment stamp set, same banner die set along with a few other items from the kit.  Like the Love sentiment that's stamped in versa mark on the back ground.  Along with the pink ribbon that was wrapped around the kit (always such a nice touch in packaging!).  I used the Hero Arts Nesting Heart Infinity Dies in red to back the white heart die.  A tiny pearl and Lawn Fawn's Just For You teeny heart to stamp in the background.  A Gelly Roll Stardust Pen added sparkle to those teeny hearts.

You & Me Card with My Monthly Hero Kit

I've been receiving the My Monthly Hero Kit for nearly a year now and absolutely recommend joining!  Hero Arts offers it and you receive product nearly doubling the fee.  It also sells out Fast!  

Todays card uses the January 2018 kit and I had some fun playing!

Isn't that & really cool?  It came in the kit.  The Festive Bauble Bold Print background stamp and Mulled Wine Ink is also from Hero Arts.  Shimmer is added with Sheer Shimmer Spritz all over the background.  Letters u and me are Altenew's Bold Alphabet Die Set and inked with Hero Arts Bubble Gum ink.

Clothes Make the Man Christmas Card

So, yeah, I've been missing and this is sooooo late but I promise I'll work on being more attentive to my blog!  

At the last Stamp Show I went to, I found the "perfect" stamp set to do my Christmas Cards and I really do love it.  This was last June-ish.  Now, I make 60+ cards each year to mail out.  The company I bought from said they had just placed a huge order for dies that they would soon be selling on their web site.  Great!  60 cards, no problem!  I'm not sure if the die deal went through or their web site is just difficult to navigate - but for the life of me, I could not find dies anywhere.  Now this may be operator error for me and I am in no way blaming anyone!  I was now on a cut it out by hand mission!  I started in September, and kept a "cut it" pack near me at all times.  In my spare time, I cut; on a road trip, I cut.  I don't mind cutting so my hands stayed busy - busy hands can't snack!  I figured the the die probably wouldn't cut everything the way I wanted so hand cutting was in the plan.

All paper was purchased at Hobby Lobby (on sale, of course).  The clothes were all stamped on cardstock and cut and pieced back together, felt like paper dolls lol.  The "fur" has Wink of Stella for shine and all the buttons and metal elements is done with a Signo Uniball Gold Pen.  The sentiment was printed using Magnolia Sky Font and another standard font (sorry I no longer have the file).  This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and I did not want to pay double postage on that size envelope so I went to Office Max and bought A9 Greeting Card Envelopes.  This size fits a 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded in half.  There was extra room, about 3 inches, but I did not hear of any problems going through the mail.

Rainbows and Unicorns Birthday Card

My middle daughter, Katie turned 30 this past weekend.  Since it was a biggie I thought she deserved Rainbows and Unicorns plus flamingos (her favorite), but last years card had flamingos.  I purchased the Mama Elephant Over the Rainbow Stamp and Die set at Joanns using a coupon, a while ago.  I loved coloring those little unicorns with my Tombow Markers!   

Loved the Avery Elle Horizontal Strips Die Set and thought it would go perfect with the small images.  My card has some shimmer with the Wink of Stella and crystal Stickles.  The light pink circle was inked with Guava from The Stamps of Life.

July My Monthly Hero Card

Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero Club sets are Awesome!!  If you are like me and adore flowers, this one is for you.  I paired this set with the Avery Elle's Horizontal Stripes Die.  It just came Saturday and I couldn't wait to use it.

The Flowers and containers were stamped with Versafine Black ink  on Canson Multimedia paper.  Coloring with Tombow markers on this paper is fabulous!  It was very easy to blend.  Topped the flowers with Wink of Stella and added Glossy Accents on the butterfly.   The sentiment was stamped by curving the the stamp on a block and using Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink then die cut with a Spellbinders banner die.

This card's sentiment was stamped and embossed, then cut with a punch.  Also both purple pieces were raised with pop dots.

Sympathy Cards with New Technique

First of all, I love watching new technique videos on Youtube.  Jennifer McGuire is my favorite and today I'm showing you my take on her technique.  The link to her video is here.  I highly recommend visiting her site, you could spend days watching all her crafty goodness!

So, I love making cards, but it's very sad when the reason is loss.  A family member passed and a very good friend lost her husband, both were very unexpected.  Instead of struggling to design a card, I poured my love for these people into making the cards.

Here's my card, I made two of these...

The stamps and dies are a flower building set from Altenew called Camillia.  The prayer sentiment is from Hero Arts called Prayers Stamp and Cut.  I chose to use the new Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violets for the flower and three different colors of green from my stash.
